Understanding the three roles in Offly.

Roles overview

Every user in Offly has one of three roles:

| Role | Description | |------|------------| | Member | Book leave, view wallchart, manage own requests | | Approver | All member permissions + approve/decline for assigned departments | | Admin | Full access — settings, billing, all departments, user management |

Changing a user's role

Admins can change roles from the employee profile page. Navigate to Settings → People, click the user, and update their role.

Approver removal

If you remove the Approver role from someone, pending requests assigned to them will need to be reassigned.

Permission details

Members can:

  • Book and cancel their own leave
  • View the team wallchart (subject to visibility settings)
  • Subscribe to calendar feeds
  • Manage their own security settings

Approvers additionally can:

  • View pending requests for their department(s)
  • Approve or decline requests
  • View team balances for their department

Admins additionally can:

  • Manage all organisation settings
  • Invite and remove users
  • Manage billing and subscriptions
  • View the audit log
  • Access all departments
